This is the place to come for all the information on what we're up to including sessions, workshops, performances and projects.

St Michael’s Mount on Easter Sunday 2006, resounded with music, song and dance during a Showcase of Traditional Cornish Music organised by Cumpas, (Cornish Music Promotions) as part of the Aberfest weekend. Thirteen Cornish groups took part; community groups the Horners and Bagas Crowd, wandering minstrels Pyba, Noze Looan dance bands Dalla, Pendans and Caracana, singing group Kescana, dancers Ros Keltek and young up and coming bands The Red Army and Pentorr.

Within the castle, poetry was provided by Bert Biscoe and Pol Hodge, Mike O’Connor’s Droll Adro supplied fiddle music and storytelling, and hammered dulcimer and guitar duo Kerensa and Steve also performed. The combination of the venue, the music and the weather was irresistible and drew an unprecedented number of visitors to the Mount, ensuring that all concerned had a wonderful afternoon.

The work of Cumpas ranges across a broad spectrum from tin cans to bassoons, from African fusions to classical compositions and one to one teaching to audiences of thousands!

Through all this we aim to be as inclusive and adaptable as possible - Cornish music can go anywhere and everywhere!

"Cumpas has done many great things in raising awareness for Cornish music and bringing bigger audiences to its cause"

"Wonderful opportunities!"
